The Vice President and Board Member for the Romanian Competition Council Valentin Mircea has stepped down from the position as of October 2013. Mircea served as VP for four-and-a-half years and said he left his post October 8 of this year. Following his departure, Mircea said he would “revert to the academia” at the Center for Studies in Competition Law at the Bucharest University. ...more »

The privatization of CFR Marfa saga is almost over. Since the afferent Emergency Ordinance stipulates October 14 as the deadline for carrying out the privatization and the draft of the Ministry of Transport for delaying it was not even discussed during the last Governmental meeting, the very next period is decisive for its completion or its failure. ...more »

EU Commission has decided to eventually resume payments towards Romania through POS CCE (Operational Program 'Increase of Economic Competitiveness') subsequent to measures taken by Romanian Government in that regard in order to comply with the Commission's recommendation. Upon the ArcelorMittal's decision on adding EUR66million to its capital during the Shareholders General Assembly on January 26, 2012, SIF Moldova, one of the minor shareholders started a legal action in order to possibly annul it.
