Klaus Iohannis, the president of Romania, is currently on an official visit to Washington DC.Today, he will meet with US vice-president Joe Biden and take part in the traditional White House reception hosted by US president Barack Obama.The Romanian chief of state also took part in the UN Summit on Sunday.During his speech he addressed issues regarding the migration crisis, stating that without valid solutions for ending the situation, the wave of people running from conflicts will only increase and that “this situation can be solved, inside the European Union, only by open dialogue and agreement” Agerpres reports....more »

After a two year period during which the US did not appoint an Ambassador to Romania, a key strategic partner in the Eastern European region,  diplomat Hans Klemm was sworn in for the position in a ceremony at the US Department of State in Washington DC.
