The AGRI gas project, as a direct energy transport road from the Caspian Sea right to EU's Franco-German industrial core, between Energy producer Azerbaidjan, Georgia and Romania, is seen as a viable project. Law 122/2015 for the approval of some measures for promoting electricity from renewable energy sources and also for amending and supplementing some normative acts was published in the Official Gazette. The National Authority for Energy Regulation (ANRE) has published on its website the monitoring report of the support scheme for promotion of cogeneration based on thermo energy demand in the first quarter of 2015, showing that the total value of contributions invoiced to consumers is lowered by 28 percent. From the comparison of 2014 to 2013 the report observed that the total amount of contributions invoiced consumers and suppliers exporters fell mainly due to lower contribution amount for cogeneration in the second half of 2014, compared to 2013....more »

The investment agreement with the Chinese company China General Nuclear Power Corporation, the investor selected for the development of units 3 and 4 at CNE Cernavoda, could be finalized by the end of the year says Energy Minister Andrei Gerea .Nuclearelectrica and China General Nuclear Power Corporation signed last year a letter of intent to proceed. The project for units 3 and 4 was evaluated in October last year, to EUR 6.45 billion, but the feasibility study which determined the investment required will be reviewed, according to Agerpres. The agreement between the two companies should have been signed in December last year, but the project is out of the schedule originally announced....more »

Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov, in the joint press conference with the Romanian and the Serbian Prime Ministers in Craiova, said that South Stream should have been built without the EU's third energy package and that there currently isn't any contract signed by Bulgaria or Russia. The Bulgarian Prime Minister insisted on pointing out that he supports the Nabucco project, which doesn't cause any inconvenience to the South Stream project, but about which, "unfortunately, no one talks any longer."...more »
