The Competition Council asked for European Commission's opinion on the establishment of a 30 per cent limit for the volume of timber from each species that a company should be allowed to purchase, before introducing the measure in the draft law that will amend the existing Forestry Code. According to a release of the competition authority sent to Agerpress, the maintaining of a limit for the acquisition of timber could contradict the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union in terms of the free movement of goods, which might trigger an infringement procedure against Romania.

The European Commission has slightly revised its estimates of Romania's economic growth in 2015 to 2.8 per cent, from 2.7 per cent, as estimated in February, according to the Commission's Spring 2015 Economic Forecast. The consolidated general budget ended Q1 2015 with a significantly higher surplus, 4.9 billion lei, 0.7% of GDP respectively, compared to a surplus of 2.3 billion lei, 0.33% of GDP respectively, in the first two months of this year, according to the data released by the Ministry of Public Finance.

without the EU's third energy package and that there currently isn't
any contract signed by Bulgaria or Russia. The Bulgarian Prime
Minister insisted on pointing out that he supports the Nabucco
project, which doesn't cause any inconvenience to the South Stream
project, but about which, "unfortunately, no one talks any
