Chinese-based company Unisun Energy completed three solar power units in Brasov and Cluj counties, in Transilvania region. The plants which have a total installed capacity of 19.59 MW are estimated to generate yearly up to 8 million euro profit resulting from green certificates trading and energy sales, according to the company. Unisun also announced that all three PV plants have already been connected to the power grid. ...more »

Almost 24 years after construction started, Hidroelectrica inaugurated yesterday the Racovita Hydroelectric Power Plant, although, it will be effectively operational as from the beginning of the next year, upon a testing period. EPC contractor Martifer Solar, the Romanian subsidiary of Martifer SGPS has completed the construction of two photovoltaic plants – one with an installed capacity of 2.03MW located in Halchiu, Brasov County and other of 3.38MW in Magurele, near Bucharest. Hidroelectrica’s General Meeting of Shareholders approved a new stage of the strategy that implies the selling of some of the micro hydros from its portfolio. There are 14 hydro powers divided in seven assets packages that will be on sale through an open outcry auction which will be conducted on January 23 and 24, 2014. According to the informing published by Hidroelectrica on its website, the starting price for the full package being approximately 10.4 million euro (46.2 million lei)....more »

After connecting the Colibasi photovoltaic plant to the national power grid in early October, Enel Green Power (EGP) checks another functional solar plant that has been connected to the domestic grid recently, a press release announces. This is the company’s fourth PV plant in Romania and is located in Podari, Dolj County, having a capacity of 10MW. ...more »
