EU Parliament has recently voted for changing the EU Regulation regarding visas, setting a reciprocity clause in order to determine US and Canada to waive visas for citizens of Bulgaria, Cyprus, Poland, Czech Republic and Romania.
'This request is discriminatory because it differentiates between EU citizens, although EU has a common policy concerning visas. Moreover, the request is a violation of the reciprocity principle as US and Canadian citizens are able to travel without any visa throughout EU.'
In order to be effective, the EU measures must also be approved by European Ministers of Interior.
