ANRE President: The liberalization of electricity prices has no significant adverse effects

The liberalization of the electricity market that began last year did not have significant adverse effects, and the influence was of about on to two percent in the final electricity price, said the President of the National Regulatory Authority for Energy (ANRE), Niculae Havrilet. In the natural gas, the impact was of about eight percent for both households and for industrial, consumers.

ANRE President also said that the electricity and gas market liberalization will not have an impact greater than 2% for industrial consumers and 1% for households in the final price, so the impact on full-year 2013 will be 10% to 9% industrial and household consumers. The liberalization schedule should be completed in December 2014, but if you there is still a significant difference in price between the domestic natural gas and the import can be extended by one year until 2015.
