The volume of car sales grew in the
first half of 2015 by almost 18 percent, announced the Car Producers
and Importers Association APIA.
Total sales reached 55,440 units,
with the majority of the buyers being companies and other juridical
entities, but on a downward trend. One explanation for the increase
of sales to individual customers is the program of fleet renewal
incentives, also called RABLA.
On the other hand, since the last
quarter of last year, there is an increasing trend in imports of
second hand cars which records in the first half of 2015 an increase
of 14 percent compared to the same period in 2014, over 76percent of
the imports (approx. 85,600 units) being at least 8 years old. In June Romania produced 34,790
vehicles, 1.9 percent more than the previous month, bringing total
production to 212,433 units in the first six months of 2015, up 0.9%
compared to the same period last year. Of the total production
186,107 units were produced by Dacia and 26,326 by Ford.
