Primary energy resources decreased by 2%, in the first two months of 2020, and those of electricity increased by 2.1%, compared to the same period of 2019

In the period the first of January 2020 to February 29 2020, the primary energy resources decreased by 2.0%, and those of electricity increased by 2.1%, compared to the same period of the previous year shows data presented by the national Institute of Statistics.

The main primary energy resources in this period totaled 5745.6 thousand tonnes of oil equivalent, decreasing by 120.0 thousand toe compared to the period 1.0. 2019 - 28. 02.2019 .

Domestic production totaled 3290.3 thousand toe, decreasing by 48.8 thousand toe compared to the same period of the previous year, and the import was 2455.3 thousand toe.


During this period, the electricity resources amounted to 11761.0 million kWh, increasing by 240.8 million kWh, compared to the corresponding period of 2019.

The output from the power plants was 4445.5 million kWh decreasing by 541.0 million kWh (-10.8%).

Hydropower production was 2156.5 million kWh increasing by 22.7 million kWh (+ 1.1%), and that of nuclear power plants increased by 2036.2 million kWh with 82.9 million kWh (+ 4.2%).


The production from wind power plants during the period 1.I-29.II.2020, was 1456.1 million kWh, increasing by 0.5 million kWh compared to the same period of the previous year, and the solar energy produced in photovoltaic installations in this period was 184.5 million kWh, increasing by 29.3 million kWh compared to the corresponding period of 2019.


The final electricity consumption during this period was 9525.9 million kWh, 1.7% lower than in the corresponding period of 2019; public lighting increased by 3.4% and population consumption increased by 2.8%.


The export of electricity was 1009.7 million kWh increasing by 468.5 million kWh.

The own technological consumption in the networks and stations was 1225.4 million kWh, decreasing by 59.4 million kWh.
