Building materials manufacturer Adeplast recorded an increasing turnover of 134 million lei (some 30.4 million euro) in the first half of the year, an advance by 35 percent year-on-year, according to Agerpres which cites a company informing. The export segment was one of the growth engines, accounting for nearly 4.5 percent of the reported revenues after an increase of 184 percent compared to H1 2013.
“In spite of weather conditions this year, which have been of no help to constructors, we have recorded a very good turnover, exceeding the increase reported last year in June when we had an advance by 31 percent compared to 2012. But probably one of our best performances was in exports where we obtained 1.36 million euro at six months, a growth by 184 percent compared to the first half in 2013”, explained Marcel Barbut, CEO AdepPlast, quoted by the newswire.
Ungaria, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Belgium and Poland are the main export destinations where Adeplast delivers building materials. Yet, Austria, Lebanon, Moldova, the Netherlands and Serbia have also generated positive results in terms of exports.
In January 2014 the company got approved a state aid of nearly 7.3 million euro to support an investment in a rockwool production facility, project estimated at 19 million euro. As per AdePlast’s information, the investment, also including financing agreements and own financial resources, will be carried out in 2015, creating about 115 new jobs. Besides this project, this year’s investment strategy also concerns the company’s industrial site in Ploiesti which was allocated funds of 580,000 euro.
Last year, when the much-expected IPO failed, Adeplast announced a turnover of 253 million lei (around 57 million euro) following a growth by 37 percent yoy.
Established in 1996, AdePlast is the most important Romanian manufacturer of building materials, operating three industrial sites in Oradea, Ploiesti and Roman.
