Volksbank Romania will inaugurate ten business centers in Romania by the end of the year to assure improved accessibility to corporate services and support development of the local business environment.
The business centers will be located in Brasov, Cluj-Napoca, Constanta, Iasi, Oradea, Ploiesti, Sibiu Timisoara and Bucharest where will be established two centers. The first inauguration will take place in Cluj-Napoca, this month and will coincide with a regional conference destined to local businessmen, according to a press release.
“By setting up regional centers we aim to increase accessibility of companies to related services, to support the entrepreneurship, the development of Romanian capital, as well as to strengthen cooperation with companies controlled by foreign investors”, commented Bogdan Neacsu, Vice President of SMEs and Corporate Division of Volksbank, as per the mentioned source.
The opening of these business centers is part of the bank’s strategy of growing its market share in the segment of corporate clients. After a 12 percent increase in the number of corporate clients in 2013, this year, Volksbank targets a further advance by 20 percent, endeavoring to reach a market share of 3 percent by 2018. The bank’s corporate portfolio at the end of last year consisted of loans exceeding 500 million euro which accounted for 20 percent of the total financing granted.
In 2014, Volksbank has allotted funds of 150 million euro for corporate financing, mainly small and medium enterprises.
With more than 130 branches nationwide, the bank is ranked among the top 10 banks in Romania where serves over 190,000 clients. Volksbank ended 2013 with assets of about 3.1 billion euro.
