The home improvement retailer Kingfisher has completed the redecoration of six more former Bricostore units, their inauguration under the Brico Depot brand being scheduled this week, on October 17.
The transformation of the six ‘deposits’ located in Arad, Brasov, Chiajna (Militari District), Oradea Ploiesti and Pitesti began in August and has been carried out in record time, hence bringing the retail network on the local market to eight units.
“The six stores add to the two units already operating in Bucharest, so we reach a total of eight Brico Depot stores across the country. We will continue the redecoration of the other stores whose renovation begins in the first half of 2015”, said Patrick Papot, Deputy Executive Director Bricot Depot Romania, as per a press release.
The Brico Depot retail chain is controlled by the British group Kingfisher, Europe’s largest home improvement retailer with over 1,150 stores in ten countries. In Romania, apart from the new stores to be opened, Brico Depot operates two other units, both in Bucharest, inaugurated in March.
In April 2013, Kingfisher took over Group Besson’s 15 Bricostores units on the Romanian market. In the first half of this year, the DIY retailer posted sales of 51 million euro for its domestic operations.
