The annual rate of inflation remained at 3% in March

The annual rate of inflation remained at 3% in March of this year, given that foodstuffs increased by 5.11%, services by 3.8%, and non-foodstuffs by 1.39%, according to the data published by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).

Consumer prices in March 2020 compared to February rose 0.5%, and as of December 2019 the advance was 1.16%.

Consumer prices in March 2020 compared to March 2019 increased by 3.0%. The annual rate calculated on the basis of the harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP) is 2.7%.

The average rate of consumer prices in the last 12 months (April 2019 - March 2020) compared to the previous 12 months (April 2018 - March 2019), calculated on the basis of the CPI, is 3.7%. Based on the HICP, the average rate is 3.7%.
