The National Confederation for Female Entrepreneurship - CONAF marked the return to normalcy, after a difficult pandemic period, with the Gala Women in Economy 2021 and the first concert after the pandemic, on the stage of the Bucharest National Theater .
With a tradition in the Romanian entrepreneurial environment, the Gala Women in Economy, the third edition, awarded the excellence of the businesswomen at national level who performed in a year in which the darkest period in the last decade was marked worldwide.

Cristina Chiriac, President of CONAF, thanked in the opening of the Women in Economy 2021 Gala "brave women from Romania and especially the ladies from CONAF, story entrepreneurs whom she found involved and committed and who showed courage and unity."
The president of CONAF stated that: “The year 2020 meant resilience for women, it was the year we will never forget. The year that forced us to push our limits, the year of involvement, resilience and performance alike. For CONAF, the year 2020 came with notable achievements, becoming the only employers' organization in Romania that represents the interests of women entrepreneurs on the board of WEGATE, a body created by the European Commission to support and promote female entrepreneurship. "
In her turn, the President of the Senate, Anca Dragu, spoke about the progress made by Romania in terms of equal opportunities and the role that women have in Romanian society, but especially what we must do together, women and men, institutions of the state and the business environment, to improve the society in which our children will live. He was open to working with the business community to encourage women to make their own decisions in life. "We will facilitate the way of women towards entrepreneurship and implicitly towards economic prosperity", concluded the President of the Senate, Anca Dragu.
The President of the Chamber of Deputies, Ludovic Orban, congratulated the business leaders who coped with the challenges of this pandemic. “It is important for Romania for the female entrepreneurial spirit to manifest itself more strongly. If we look at many areas of activity, we see that performance is largely achieved by women. I want all those who have excelled in their fields to become role models for young women who want to build a successful career. ”
In turn, Raluca Turcan, Minister of Labor and Social Protection, joined the Women in Economy 2021 Gala to celebrate the performance of women entrepreneurs in Romania. "I believe that female entrepreneurship is one of the ways in which we can modernize Romanian society. Romania is on the first place in the European top of the presence of women in the management of companies. There are about half a million women who have the status of shareholders in active companies in Romania, which shows an increase in the number of women who overcome stereotypes, who overcome their fears and who become a force for change in Romanian society. " He congratulated CONAF for the mission it has undertaken to represent and strengthen female entrepreneurship.
The Minister of Health, Ioana Mihăila, spoke about models and examples, considering that “it is extremely important to offer examples to young people, to guide them to entrepreneurship, to continuous study and to offer them the comfort that any work done with involvement and devotion can leads to success ”.
Estonia is a model of good practice on gender balance. Her Excellency, the Estonian Ambassador to Romania, Ingrid Kressel Vinciguerra, urged the ladies "to believe in them, in the power to change mentalities, taboos and follow their dreams." Only in this way, he said, "can we show a whole world who and what we are."
The surprise of the evening was the partnership for digital entrepreneurship education launched by CONAF, for the first time with Google Romania, which grants 1000 qualification scholarships in the IT field for women who want to certify their knowledge in this sector.
