The total worth of Romania's direct
foreign investment in 2014 amounted to 2,4 billion EUR while the
total balance of investment added up to approximately 60,2 billion,
according to Romania's Central Bank.
“The new equity capital investments
amounted to EUR 2.8 billion, but the volume of net loans accessed
from foreign investors decreased by EUR 425 million, last year, so
that the net amount of foreign investments reached EUR 2.4 billion”
Romania-Insider reports.
Leading the way in investments were the
manufacturing industry, financial mediation and insurance sectors,
followed by the retail, construction and real estate transaction
sectors.
In terms of countries leading the way
in investments,the Netherlands, Austria and Germany were the top
three. Around 60% of such
financial operations took place in Bucharest, the capital city of
Romania, and the surrounding areas, although this estimation is
based on where companies have
their headquarters as opposed to their area of operation.
