CEZ invested 6.7 mln euro in an indoor substation in Craiova

CEZ Distribution has completed its investment worth 6.7 million euro in the Craiova Centru indoor substation, which is the group’s largest investment in Oltenia region. The 110/20 kV substation was originally built in 1979 and its refurbishment, which was carried out this September, upgraded it to the current technological requirements, a press release informs.

Through this investment, there was ensured a proper functioning of the substation by reducing the cases of accidental interruptions in electricity supply and the voltage fluctuations, as well as a significant increase of the capacity of power distribution.

‘For refurbishing and aligning the equipment to European standards, as well as for ensuring technical conditions for working in loop system, there have been simultaneously made adjacent works for upgrading Craiova South and Craiovita stations. The substation’s upgrade to the European technological standards meets the consumption needs on medium and long-term and was executed using Romanian equipment, also cooperating with reputable local companies such as Electroputere, Electromontaj Craiova, Alget Craiova, Servicii Energetice Oltenia.’, is stated by the same press release.’

Nearly half of Craiova inhabitants are supplied with electricity by the Craiova Centru substation.
