Cineplexx International has bought Grand Cinema & More in Romania

Austrian company Cineplexx International has bought Grand Cinema & More from Baneasa Shopping City through Cineplexx Romania and thus joins the local market as the owner of a multiplex with a capacity of 2,700 seats. In addition to the acquisition of Grand Cinema & More, Cineplexx plans to open another 7 locations in the country, the next being announced to be open this year in Satu Mare. By 2021 there will be a total of 8 cinemas announced tyhe company (2 open in 2020 and 2 more by the end of 2021). Founded in 1993 with its headquarters in Vienna, as part of the film distribution company Constantin Film Holding GmbH, founded in Austria in 1951, the Cineplexx chain has 50 cinemas, of which 44 multiplex with about 300 halls and has around 1,500 employees.
