American company Emerson has completed an investment of 76 million dollar (nearly 56 million euro) that has been designated for extending the production and engineering operations in Cluj-Napoca and for two specialized engineering centers, reads www.monitoruldecluj.ro.
In the new production facility, an 18,000 sqm construction for which have been allocated 60 million dollar (44 million euro), Emerson will manufacture measurement products for flow applications. The rest of 16 million dollar (12 million euro) supported the development of the Regional Center for Engineering Projects and the European Center for System Integration relative to PlantWeb Solutions Group.
According to the online newspaper, through the new platform, Emerson will create up to 700 new jobs. In the coming period, the company will hire about 270 people, the main target being the electricians.
“About 600 of the employees will provide engineering and support services for European control systems and automation projects, while another 100 employees will work on the assembly and testing of control systems of projects across Europe”, said John Bell, General Manager PlantWeb Solutions Group World Area Hub Cluj, quoted by the same source.
Emerson already has 2,000 employees working in its campus based in Cluj-Napoca where production includes pressure regulators, flow and density measurement devices, power generators or electrical equipment for solar power plants.
