Siemens opens a new
research and development center, this time in Cluj-Napoca, which will be
operated under Evosoft brand, its subsidiary. The total investment in the IT
center amounted to 4.5 million euro, announces the company that plans to hire
over 200 specialists by 2017 to work in global projects for software and
product development for all its divisions.
“Siemens and Evosoft chose to open a new
center in Cluj-Napoca due to the high education level among fresh graduates
and the country’s favorable geographic position in Europe. The Romanian market
is very competitive and we are looking forward to seeing the solutions
developed by engineers from Cluj-Napoca delivered to customers worldwide”, said Stephan Sonnenberg, COO of evosoft GmbH.
The R&D center will be located in Liberty Technology Park Cluj where will occupy the entire B building with an area exceeding 3000 sqm. The execution of this project was coordinated by the developer which delivered the office space at the beginning of August 2014, states a press release of the company.
The domestic subsidiary of the German group operates other two IT centers in Romania, in Brasov, where employs over 300 people. The company which has some 1600 employees across the country has been present in Romania for more than 100 years. Siemens also operates four production facilities in Buzias and Sibiu.
