Transelectrica has concluded the contract for the refurbishment of the 220/110/20 kV Campia Turzii station, an important junction in the National Power System which ensures transit and power connections from areas with electricity surplus to areas in Transilvania and Maramures, where there is electric power deficit, according to a company release. Total investment amounts to 42.2 million lei, 55 percent less than the initial estimated amount – some 108 million lei, and it is supported from internal resources, as well as attracted fund, such as corporate bonds.
The project, expected to be completed in 2017, includes the complete refurbishment of the station, as well the installation of an autotransformer AT-220 MVA-220/110 kV and of a second transformer 110/20 kV.
Since the beginning of the year, new investment projects worth over 84 million lei have been initiated and additionally, projects valued at 312 million euro are in advanced stages in terms of procurement undertakings.
Transelectrica, which is the domestic system and transmission operator, announced an investment programme coming to 2.5 billion lei to be run within 2014 and 2017 which is focused on expanding interconnections with neighboring countries, on refurbishing old electric power stations, as well as on integrating in the domestic grid renewable energy power plants.
