Winmarkt Romania shopping centers chain has benefited from a EUR5 million investment this year, out of the EUR12.5 budget assigned for 2012-2015 period. Italian company Immobiliare Grande Distribuzione (IDG) that owns Winmarkt Romania allocated the said amount for extending and modernizing the Winmarkt centers throughout Romania.
'We've activated an investment budget of approximately EUR5 million, fully financed by equity, the shareholders confirming the ability of self-sustaining the investment plan without affecting the level of indebtedness of the company which is zero at this point.' said Antonio Di Berardino, CEO at Winmarkt as per a press release.
Winmarkt chain consists of 15 shopping centers, located in 13 cities across Romania and plans to extend it in other six locations within the following 12 months. That, in spite of having registered a lower turnover within the first six months of 2013 compared to the same period of last year.
IGD has a real-estate portfolio estimated to almost EUR2 billion comprising of 19 shopping centers and retail parks, as well as 19 hypermarkets and supermarkets in Italy, a portfolio including the Winmarkt Romania chain, too.
