ROFMEX 2018, the most important facility management event in Central and Eastern Europe

Following last year's success, ROFMA - the Romanian Facility Management Association organizes this year a new edition of ROFMEX - Romanian Facility Management Experience Days. Being held at the Romexpo Exhibition Center under the slogan Smart Digitizing Places, this year's edition focuses on the evolution and challenges for workplace, property and facility management (IoT, Machine Learning, Big Data).

Deloitte analysis: The M&A market is marked by large deals

Factoring in deals whose disclosed total value equals EUR 809 million, the market more than doubled compared to the EUR 391 million during the second quarter. According to Deloitte estimates, the total market value, including deals whose value remains undisclosed, was between EUR 1.4 and 1.6 billion, up more than 15% compared to the third quarter of 2017.

Foreign Investors in Romania are expecting business growth but are concerned about the regulatory framework

The most recent results of the FIC Business Sentiment Index (carried out in September 2018) brings some important insights on both workforce and fiscal related topics. Still there is a continued dichotomy between FIC members expecting higher revenues and business growth in the short-term but being concerned about the lack of infrastructure and stability of the regulatory framework. FIC maintains its position that, in due time, the lack of predictability and of investments will reduce the economy’s competitiveness and long-term growth potential.

Fifty percent more parcels were sent abroad by Romanians in the first seven months of the year

According to DPD Romania, one of the largest courier and express delivery companies on the local market, Romanians sent over 48% more parcels abroad in the first 7 months of the year, compared to the same period of last year.

Most of the parcels shipped from Romania abroad were delivered to Bulgaria, Hungary, Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom, accounting for about 91% of all parcels dispatched abroad. As regards the volume of parcels received by Romanians from abroad, their weight increased by 24%. Most of these come from Bulgaria, the Netherlands, Germany, the UK and Poland, which generated over 80% of total imports in the first 7 months of the year.
