Investment fund Mid Europa Partners buys healthcare services operator Regina Maria

In a transaction estimated to around
100 million Euro, the private healthcare services operator Regina Maria was acquired by the investment fund Mid Europa Partners, the
deal being signed at the beginning of August 2015. The main shareholders were Advent
International investment fund that owned eighty percent of the shares
and founder, cardiologist Wargha Enayati with twenty percent. Regina Maria had a turnover of 55 mil.
Euro in 2014, and this year has budgeted a 20% increase in business
at 67 mil. Euro.

Bethlen, Partner of Mid Europa Partners. The investment fund Mid Europa is
focused on acquisitions in Central and Eastern Europe and Turkey and
was once close to buy Maria Regina, losing the fight in favor of
Advent International that bought into the company with an estimated
30 million Euro. The finalists in the race to acquire
Maria Regina were investment fund Mid Europa and Acibadem, one of the
largest private healthcare providers in Turkey.
Advent International Corporation was represented in the transaction by RTPR Allen & Overy. The transaction is subject to approval by the Competition
