Before being appointed Ambassador his most recent positions were Senior Adviser to the Under Secretary of Management at the Department of State until January 2015 and Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Department’s Bureau of Human Resources, from 2012 to 2015. In 2012 he was Senior Coordinator for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum in the Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs, and, from 2010 to 2012 he was Senior Coordinator for Rule of Law and Law Enforcement at the U.S. Embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan.
During the event, as The Romania Journal reports, John Kerry emphasized the strong relations between the two nations and the role Romania has in building stability at a regional and global level as well as the country's rapidly increasing economic growth rates (one of the highest in Europe) while the newly appointed Ambassador stressed the trustworthiness of the country and his dedication to help in the fight against corruption.
Ambassador Klemm has a B.A. from Indiana University and an M.A.
From University of Stanford. His previous appointments through the
Department of State include postings to Trinidad, Tabago, South
Korea, Japan and Germany.
