The Sonaca Aerospace
company, an 80 year old group operating in the areas of development,
manufacturing, assembly and testing of aerospace metallic and
composite structures and their associated systems, managed to get state aid funds, mid September 2015, in order to open a new facility in Romania.
Their project
includes buildings, vehicle roads, equipment and machinery in which
investments will be made in order to start producing for Embraer and
Airbus.
The new facility will be open, according to current plans, in
two shifts and personnel will be hired according to production ramp
up.
Sonaca Aerospace
Transilvania SRL, advised by Noerr in this project, got state aid funding from
the Romanian authorities totaling 5,4 million EUR. The overall value
of these investments is 11,8 million EUR.
The firm is
internationally known as a reliable supplier, having recently been
granted the Supply Chain and Quality Improvement Program award by
Airbus in 2012 and 2013.
It has also been nominated by Embraer as its
best supplier of aero structures in 2008, 2009 and 2013.
