Compared with the same period of last year, the turnover of the industry sector both for domestic and external market decreased in nominal terms by four percent shows the monthly report issued by the National Institute of Statistics.
In July 2016, the turnover in industry, per total (domestic and non-domestic market), decreased in nominal terms both compared to the previous month by 4.0% and compared to the corresponding month of the previous year by 3.3%.
In July 2016, compared to the previous month, the turnover in industry per total decreased by 4.0% due to drops in mining and quarrying (-7.7%) and in manufacturing (-3.9%). By main industrial groups, there were drops in the following sectors: capital goods industry (-10.0%), durable goods industry (-7.2%), energy industry (-2.5%) and intermediate goods industry (-1.9%). There were rises in non- durable goods industry of 2.1%.
Compared to July 2015, in July 2016, the turnover in industry decreased per total by 3.3% due to drops in mining and quarrying (-42.2%) and in manufacturing (-2.2%). By main industrial groups, there were drops in energy industry (-33.5%) and intermediate goods industry (-4.5%). There were rises in durable goods industry (+8.1%), capital goods industry (+1.9%) and non-durable goods industry (+0.7%). Compared to the period 1.I-31.VII.2015, in the period 1.I-31.VII.2016, the turnover in industry increased per total by 3.1% due to rises in manufacturing (+4.4%). There was a decrease of 31,5% in mining and quarrying. By main industrial groups, there were rises in turnover in the following sectors: durable goods industry (+18.5%), capital goods industry (+9.5%) and non-durable goods industry (+6.1%). There were drops in energy industry (- 19.6%) and in intermediate goods industry (-1.1%).
