Starting today, November 4, the shares issued by Nuclearelectica, can be traded on Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) following the favorable notice given by BVB Listing Committee and the approval received from the BVB Board. There is a total of almost 281.8 million shares (symbolized SNN) worth RON10 (about EUR0.25) each, available for trading on Equities Sector, Tier 1 Shares shows a news release of BVB.
The IPO (initial public offering) through which there were sold 10% of the shares of the state-owned company was run between September 9-20 and was successfully carried out. All the shares included in the offering have been attached allocation rights that were traded on BVB in the October 2-28 interval.
Nuclearelectrica is the single nuclear power producer in Romania, operating two CANDU-6 reactors with natural uranium as fuel and heavy water, as cooling agent and moderator. The company has to subsidiaries – the Cernavoda Nuclear Facility and the Pitesti Nuclear Fuel Plant that supplies the fuel the two reactors need. Each of the plants has a capacity of 706 MWh covering approximately 20% of the national energy consumption.
