November at full throttle on Bucharest Stock Exchange , as the shares of two companies got listed and bonds for another two start trading. Shares of Transilvania Broker de Asigurare, a leading insurance brokerage company, began trading on the Main Market of BVB from November 2, 2017. The company sold 625,000 shares or 25% of its equity. The price per share from the offer was RON 15.5 lei, and it amounted to RON 14.4510 per share after applying the 7 percent promotional discount, making the value of the offer exceed RON 9 million. Transilvania Broker became the first insurance brokerage company in Romania to be listed on BVB.
The shares of Sphera Franchise Group, one of the most important foodservice operators in Romania, started trading BVB from November 9, 2017. The company, which manages restaurants under the KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell brands, became the first listed foodservice operator on BVB. The final offer price for the 9.83 million shares issued by Sphera within the secondary initial public offer was set at RON 29 per share. At this price, the value of the offer exceeded RON 285 million (equivalent to EUR 62 million).
"The Bucharest Stock Exchange kept on accelerating at full throttle this November as the stock market witnessed two listings of shares worth a total of EUR 64 million, and EUR 1.2 million for the bonds segment. The Romanian stock market, therefore, reached 88 issuers at the end of last month, after five companies had listed on the Main Market in the past 12 months, which is a performance for the local stock exchange. We hope the listings will continue in 2018 and new companies to go public," said Lucian Anghel, President of the Board of Governors at BVB.
Also this November, two issuances of bonds took place on BVB. The corporate bonds of Investia Finance S.A., symbol INV22, started trading on the Alternative Trading System of BVB from November 27, 2017. The issuance comprised 10,000 bonds, non-guaranteed, RON denominated, with a nominal value of RON 100 and a total value of RON 1 million. The yearly interest rate is 7 percent, and the maturity date is March 2022.
The corporate bonds of Bittnet, symbol BNET22, started trading on the Alternative Trading System of BVB from November 28, 2017. The issuance comprised 45,000 bonds, non-guaranteed, RON denominated, with a nominal value of RON 100 and a total value of RON 4.5 million. The yearly interest rate is fixed at 9 percent, and the maturity date is September 2022.
BET, the main index of the market, which measures the evolution of the 13 most liquid companies listed on BVB, managed to keep an increase of 10% after the first 11 months. Therefore, BET closed the month of November at 7,796 points, 700 points above the level posted at the beginning of the year.
During the same period of time, BET-TR, the index which includes the dividends paid by the companies from the BET index, grew by about 20 percent, up to a level of 10,483 points.
Among all indices from BVB, BET-FI, the index mirroring the evolution of the financial investment companies (SIFs) and Fondul Proprietatea, posted the greatest increase of all as it went up by nearly 30 percent, to 38,466 points.
The total trading value of equities exceeded EUR 2 billion on BVB by the end of November, up by 16% as compared to the first 11 months of the previous year.
The average daily trading value for equities amounted to about EUR 9.3 million by the end of the first 11 months of this year. Therefore, the average daily trading value went up by 18 percent as compared to January-November 2016.
The market capitalization of the Romanian companies was EUR 19.8 billion, while the capitalization of all the companies listed on the Main Market of BVB accounted for EUR 35.6 billion.
