ANRE approved a three-year blockade of the energy price to households
February 06 2019
The National Regulatory Authority for Energy (ANRE) approved the methodology for setting the regulated tariffs and the energy prices applied to final customers.
"By applying the Methodology for setting the regulated tariffs and the prices applied to the final customers, the prices for the households that benefit from the regulated electricity supply will not increase", ANRE says in a press release. According to the methodology, the tariffs applied by the suppliers of last resort (Enel, CEZ, E.On, Electrica) for three years will not increase.
This decision was taken after another that obliges energy producers to sell to households at regulated prices so that the profit does not exceed 5%. The most affected producers could be Hidroelectrica and Nuclearelectrica, which may be forced to sell up to 65% of the production at a low price.
ANRE says three periods of regulated tariffs have been established: the first application period from 1 March 2019 to 31 December 2019, the second implementation period from 1 January 2020 to 31 December 2020 and the third period of application from 1 January 2021 to 28 February 2022.
