Laura Codruta Kovesi received the most votes in the LIBE committee, ie 26 votes.
Her fellow nominee Jean-François Bohnert, nominated by France, received 22 votes and one vote by Andres Ritter (Germany).
Laura Codruta Kovesi received the most votes in the Committee on Budgetary Control (CONT), namely 12, against Bohnert - 11 votes, and Andres Ritter, who received one vote.
LIBE Members of the European Parliament voted secretly on Wednesday at 12.00 as the candidate for the post of Chief Prosecutor of the European Prosecutor after Laura Codruta Kovesi received the most votes in the CONT Committee.
The European Parliament and the EU Council will appoint the European Chief Prosecutor by common agreement and the Conference of Presidents will be informed of the outcome of the hearing before its next meeting on 7 March 2019.
