Automobiles Bavaria supports the efforts of medical teams in the fight against the pandemic by offering electric cars and charging stations to medical teams.
"In order to support the mobility needs for hospitals in the cities in which we are present, we have initiated a partnership through which we provide BMW i3 electric cars to medical teams. We also provided hospitals with charging stations for electric and hybrid cars, which remain in the use also after this difficult period. ” - said Mr. Georg Pfeffer, CEO of Bavaria Automobile.
Since the launch of the project, cars have been delivered and fitted with power supplies in the following medical units: the Clinical Hospital of Infectious Diseases Cluj-Napoca, the Clinical Hospital of Infectious Diseases and Pneumophysiology "Victor Babeș" Craiova and the Clinical Hospital of Pediatrics Sibiu.
The electric cars will be used by medical personnel to travel between the hospital sections or for future missions of testing or treatment at home of patients infected with coronavirus.
The cars offered for use by the three hospitals are added to the BMW i3 fleet made available to the Matei Balş Institute by BCR eGO and the Bucharest City Hall, as well as to the cars used for the hospitals in Constanta and Timisoara. Thus, as of this week, 22 BMW i3 cars are in use by medical teams in the front line of the Covid-19 fight and the project will be extended to other locations where Bavaria Automobile dealers are present.
