Schoenherr și Asociații promotes two of its dispute resolution lawyers. As of February 2021, Iustin Armașu is appointed as local partner, and Andrea Gál becomes a senior attorney at law.
"This year marks Schoenherr's 25th anniversary in the Romanian market. It also means 13 years since the launch of the firm's dispute resolution practice in Bucharest, which has over time become one of our key areas of expertise. These promotions are part of our plan to continue developing the dispute resolution practice with a strong team of professionals." – said Sebastian Guțiu, managing partner of Schoenherr și Asociații and head of the firm's dispute resolution practice in Romania.
Iustin Armașu (local partner), who has been a lawyer since 2011, joined Schoenherr's dispute resolution team in 2015. He has been involved in a considerable number of litigation and arbitration cases, as well as in insolvency and restructuring matters. He is experienced in contentious administrative matters (with a focus on public procurement, competition, consumer protection, and tax disputes), as well as in commercial litigation. He has advised on international arbitration matters, including cases handled under the ICC rules or investment arbitration in front of the ICSID.
Andrea Gál (senior attorney at law) has been a lawyer since 2014 and joined Schoenherr in 2017. Her professional experience started with handling large volumes of litigation cases in connection with insurance damages. She expanded her area of expertise to also cover legal assistance in a significant number of employment litigation, commercial litigation, contentious administrative matters, as well as international arbitration (including investment arbitration).
"We have trust in the exceptional capabilities of our recently promoted team members and are confident they will continue to play an important part in the development of our dispute resolution practice." – added Sebastian Guțiu, referring to the measures announced this year and mid-2020, when Nora Olah was promoted to senior attorney at law.
Nora Olah (senior attorney at law since July 2020) has been a lawyer since 2012 and joined Schoenherr in 2017. She is experienced in assisting on contentious administrative matters (mostly tax disputes, consumer protection, competition), commercial litigation (with a focus on banking, insurance, agribusiness), real estate and construction-related litigation, as well as on complex debt recovery projects. She has also been involved in a series of international arbitration cases (including investment arbitration).
Schoenherr has been active in Romania for 25 years. Schoenherr și Asociații has a strong dispute resolution practice (including litigation, arbitration, restructuring & insolvency, wcc & criminal defence), which is ranked by major international legal directories such as Chambers and Partners, and Legal500.
