Danone Romania obtained B Corp certification within the regional group of Central and Eastern Europe, of which Romania is a part, along with Bulgaria, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Danone Romania thus joins the social movement for sustainability that brings together over 6,000 companies, in over 80 countries and 150 industries that meet rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and responsibility.
B Corp certification is awarded to companies that meet rigorous standards in five categories: governance, employees, environment, community and consumers. To receive the certification, a company must obtain a minimum of 80 points in the B Impact Assessment, which does not focus only on an organization's products and services, but on the entire value chain, and Danone Central and Eastern Europe, of which Danone Romania is also part of it, it scored 103.3 points.
"We are honored to obtain the B Corp certification, this is proof that we are acting for the benefit of all our consumers, employees, partners and the communities in which we operate. B Corp is more than a certification, it is a sustainable way of thinking, implemented in all departments. It is the effort of all the colleagues who work in Danone Romania, who believe in the company's mission and in their potential to bring health through food to as many people as possible", said Cristina Bîcîilă, One Planet Manager, One Health Danone Central Europe and East.
The B Corp certification supports the company's global promise to be among the world's largest fully B Corp certified multinationals by 2025. Currently 72.4% of Danone's operations and brands are B Corp certified.
