Romania’s
power grid operator is new member of the American Chamber of Commerce in
Romania, an advocacy and business growth professional association.
“It is particularly important for
Transelectrica the exchange of experience in the fields of energy and
environment, information and communications technology, capital markets, tax
and structural funds, competition and state aid, infrastructure and
public-private partnerships, including through active participation in specialized
working groups within AmCham Romania”, is stated by a press release.
Transelectrica
is responsible for electricity transmission, system and market operation, grid
and market infrastructure development ensuring the security of the Romanian
power system. The company is listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange where its
shares have been traded since August 29, 2006.

Romania was established in 1993, having a significant contribution as a partner
of the Romanian authorities in drafting laws and regulations which impact the domestic
business environment.
