Philips Healthcare
has a new general manager as of today, Alexandru Popescu being appointed at the
helm of the south-eastern operations of the world’s leading group in healthcare.
According to the
company, Popescu will focus on developing the business, both operationally and
strategically, as well as on consolidating its central position in the
healthcare industry. In his new position as a regional coordinator, he will be
implementing the vision and development strategy of Philips Healthcare in
Romania and the other south-eastern European states where the company runs
operations.

We focus on innovations that will facilitate quicker, more accurate diagnoses and less invasive treatments. A graduate of the Faculty of Law within the University of Bucharest and having an MBA at the University of Ottawa, Alexandru Popescu has more than 15 years of work experience in the both healthcare and retail industries. His areas of expertise include mergers and acquisitions, branding and identity, product and business development. He was formerly the Executive Director of Amethyst Radiotherapy where he was in charge with operations in Romania, Bulgaria and the Republic of Moldova. Also, Popescu had previously held several leadership positions within medical companies, such as ISIDA, Regina Maria, Euromedic and Medicover.
