Even in these turbulent times for Renewable energy, PV plants are being constructed. The juwi group just started the construction of two PV plants in Romania. The plants are situated near the towns Satu Mare (North-West Romania) and Butimanu (approx. 50 km north-west of Bucharest). They are being built by the Italian juwi subsidiary juwi Energie Rinnovabili Srl in cooperation with the Bulgarian subsidiary juwi Solar GmbH in Sofia. At the beginning of July juwi signed an Engineering-Procurement-Construction (EPC) contract with the Chinese investor HiSun PV as well as their partner Abacus Renewables. The two PV plants will be connected to the grid in November 2013. The PV plants with a total capacity of 12.890 MWp – 5.88 MWp in Satu Mare and 7.015 MWp in Butimanu – are constructed with more than 53,700 modules from the manufacturer GD Solar/HiSun.
