Vodafone Romania is extending the coverage of 4G roaming to 11 new states, namely Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Norway, New Zeeland, South Korea, Switzerland, Taiwan, the Netherlands and the UK, which add up to the other four countries, Greece, Italy, Portugal and Spain, that have already received the coverage.
The service will be available as of September 1, 2014 and Vodafone’s customers will not be incurred any additional costs, shows a press release of the telecommunication operator. According to the company, they will continue expanding the coverage at a steady pace, so as the service will be introduced in other countries, too.
Vodafone, which is
the second largest mobile operator in the domestic market, has 4G coverage in
several cities across Romania, among which Bucharest, Arad, Bacau, Cluj-Napoca,
Constanta, Craiova, Iasi, Galati, Timisoara, Baia Mare, Botosani, Buzau,
Braila, Oradea, Pitesti, Ploiesti, Sibiu and Targu Mures.
The subsidiary of
the British-based group is working on expanding the local 4G network, as well,
last year supplementing the budget for the 2014-2016 investment plan by 54
million, money that will be allocated to speed up the expansion of the 4G
network.
