Industrial production in Romania went up between January and September 2014 over the same period last year, increasing both as gross series, by 7.4 percent, and as series adjusted by number of working days and seasonality, by 8.5 percent, announces the National Institute of Statistics (INSSE).
The advance was triggered by rises in manufacturing and mining and quarrying sectors which have seen higher production volumes in the analyzed period. By main industrial groups, increases were recorded in capital goods (+13.4 percent), consumer durable goods (+8.5 percent), consumer non-durable goods (+4.9 percent) and intermediate goods (+4.8 percent) fields, while the energy sector declined 0.9 percent.
In September 2014, industrial production advanced by 27.1 percent against August 2014 as regards gross series and by 6.1 percent compared to the same month of the previous year. As series adjusted by number of working days and seasonality, industrial production rose by 2.4 percent and by 4.9 percent, respectively.
