The draft Tax Code and Fiscal Procedure will be discussed by the Government between March 18 and 25, 2015, in view of approving them, announced Prime Minister Victor Ponta.
The discussions will be preceded by talks with MPs and parliamentary groups said Ponta who claims that the Tax Code issued by his Cabinet is the best draft that anyone could have.
“No one in Romania could possibly have a better programme. What matters is that after three years of work we are able to reduce the VAT and that we have a plan and a clear strategy of economic development in the medium and long term,” stated the Prime Minister.
In the context of a huge budget deficit which would be produced, provided the new Tax Code were adopted, he added that the tax reform proposed can be implemented and that the evolution in January and February 2015 in terms of tax collection to the state budget is encouraging.
Thus, Victor Ponta reaffirmed his support on the Tax Code, stating that all efforts will be towards approving it by the end of this legislative session and that the Government could accept liability in case the draft will be blocked in the Parliament.
