Cities of Tomorrow 3: Mobility

The German-Romanian Chamber of Commerce and Zeppelin Association invite you to the third edition of Cities of Tomorrow, Romania’s top meeting between business, architecture and administration on 24 March 2015, 9.00 am, Hotel Crowne Plaza, Bucharest. 

This event shows an intense and rich mix of presentation, workshops and networking. Conferences by top international guests go side-by-side with debates on the Romanian situation and perspectives.

Cities of Tomorrow 2015 is dedicated to the relationship between mobility, urban development, economy and constructions.

A joint session - “Smart City and Smart Mobility” – and two separate workshops on – “Mobile people and mobile architecture” and “Moving the Cities” inform about mobility in the broadest sense, looking at two main directions:

1.The Relation between mobility and the city.

We discuss about the last trends in the private and public transport – management systems and intelligent vehicles, infrastructure, car-sharing, smart parking, visions and mobility strategies, projects and concrete operations. All of them being linked to the urban and economical perspectives: strategies and urban development, mobility, investments and the real estate market.

Romanian specialists from the field of transport, administration, architecture, business leaders and representatives of administration debate about the situation in Romania and perspectives.

2.Mobility beyond transport. A mobile society.

By mobility we understand also the fast transformations and the explosive development in communication, management and control technologies and their input on society and architecture.

Discussions about the house and the office of the future, new business models, new consumers and markets, collaborative transport systems, and also about the regeneration of the urban spaces and existing constructions.

The two Keyspeakers have confirmed their participation: 

Michael Horodniceanu, Ph.D.,P.E., is the president of MTA Capital Construction New York, leading the largest transit infrastructure construction program overseeing $ 20 billion dollars projects. Dr. Horodniceanu served as New York’s Traffic Commissioner and is a recognized expert in the field of transportation infrastructure with experience in public and private sectors

Prof. Jörn Walter, Chief Urban Planner of the city of Hamburg (formerly of Dresden), Germany. He is an internationally acclaimed expert in urban development, being awarded the “Schinkelpreis Städtebau” (Schinkel Prize for Planning), and guest professor at the Vienna, Dresden and Hamburg Universities.
