Enel Green Power connects its third photovoltaic plant to the domestic grid

Enel Green Power has connected its third photovoltaic park to the national electricity grid upon the company managed to connect the first two parks in July 2013. The operational project for solar energy is located in Colibasi, Giurgiu county, having an installed capacity of 6.5 MW.

ANRE caps power distributors' ROR at 8.5% until 2018

Romania's energy market regulator, ANRE, capped at 8.5% the rate of return (ROR) applied to investments made by electricity suppliers, cutting down on the previous rate of 10%. The new rate will apply both to the value of investments distributors in this field will make from now on and to the regulatory asset base for power distribution.
Nonetheless, there might be added another 0.5% to the new ROR, provided the distributors direct their investments in smart energy and their technological consumption goes below the threshold established by ANRE.

Local businessman invests 10 million Euros in a 6.65 MW solar park

Italy’s Nordelectrica Impianti was selected to build a 6.65 MW photovoltaic park for Productie Energie Verde, a company owned by local businessman Vladimir Cohn.

The project will generate electricity that will be used by another company owned by Cohn, corrugated board producer Ecopaper and the surplus will be sold on the market.

Electricity trading on OPCOM almost doubles compared to last year

More than 650 million Euro worth of electricity traded in the first half of 2013, 85% more than in the same time of last year.
The bilateral contract market, where buyers and sellers meet and sign long-term deals, saw the highest jump in amounts traded, according to OPCOM data. Traded volume on this market stood at 9.47 TWh of electricity or 36% of the country’s energy consumption, almost 5.5 times more than in the same time last year. Traded electricity price fell 15.6% to EUR43.2/MWh.

Bringing energy to the Bucharest Stock Exchange

The first IPO on the Bucharest Stock Exchange in five years, the public offering of 10% in Romania’s state-run nuclear power producer Nuclearelectrica was received with interest from small investors. Small investors subscribed 2.3 times mores shares than they are offered at the IPO and allotted 90 million lei (EUR20.1 million) by 05:00 p.m.. They may subscribe 10% of the 25.3 million new shares the company wants to sell.

German developer Juwi builds two solar plants in Romania

Even in these turbulent times for Renewable energy, PV plants are being constructed. The juwi group just started the construction of two PV plants in Romania. The plants are situated near the towns Satu Mare (North-West Romania) and Butimanu (approx. 50 km north-west of Bucharest). They are being built by the Italian juwi subsidiary juwi Energie Rinnovabili Srl in cooperation with the Bulgarian subsidiary juwi Solar GmbH in Sofia.
