The
foreign investors have bought around 1 million hectares over the last
7 years and they are expected to massively increase the farmland
acquisitions once the land market liberalization comes into force in
January 2014.
The
Romania's cereal production has doubled since 2007 confirming the
great potential of local agriculture. And this potential, along with
cheaper land prices compared with the rest of EU are attractive for
international investors who have great financial power.
