Dentons advises Petroceltic on the transfer of its Romanian business

Dentons advised the oil and gas company Petroceltic on the

purchase of equity in two Black Sea exploration blocks (40% in EX-27

Muridava Block previously held by a subsidiary of Sterling Resources

and 30% in the EX-28 Est Cobalcescu Block previously held by a

subsidiary of Beach Energy), in the Romanian sector of the Black Sea.

Natural gas transport project AGRI gets Romania's support

The AGRI gas project, as a direct energy transport road from the Caspian Sea right to EU's Franco-German industrial core, between Energy producer Azerbaidjan, Georgia and Romania, is seen as a viable project. The feasibility study for AGRI project, that aims to transport gas from the Caspian region, on the territory of Azerbaijan and Georgia, crossing the Black Sea by vessels and involving the construction of two liquefaction terminals (on the Georgian Black Sea coast) and regasification (on the Romanian Black Sea coast ) was presented in an Inter-ministerial meeting that took place on June 22 in Bucharest.

Small capacity renewable energy gets a breath of fresh air with the adoption of Law 122

Law 122/2015 for the approval of some measures for promoting electricity from renewable energy sources and also for amending and supplementing some normative acts was published in the Official Gazette. The purpose of this law is to revitalize the renewable energy market and support the companies owning projects from renewable energy sources with capacities smaller than 3 MW by enabling them the possibility to sign bilateral agreements.

Total contributions invoiced to consumers for the promotion of cogeneration fell by twenty eight percent

The National Authority for Energy Regulation (ANRE) has published on its website the monitoring report of the support scheme for promotion of cogeneration based on thermo energy demand in the first quarter of 2015, showing that the total value of contributions invoiced to consumers is lowered by 28 percent. From the comparison of 2014 to 2013 the report observed that the total amount of contributions invoiced consumers and suppliers exporters fell mainly due to lower contribution amount for cogeneration in the second half of 2014, compared to 2013.

Investments in CNE Cernavoda units 3 and 4 might turn into a Chinese saga

The investment agreement with the Chinese company China General Nuclear Power Corporation, the investor selected for the development of units 3 and 4 at CNE Cernavoda, could be finalized by the end of the year says Energy Minister Andrei Gerea .Nuclearelectrica and China General Nuclear Power Corporation signed last year a letter of intent to proceed. The project for units 3 and 4 was evaluated in October last year, to EUR 6.45 billion, but the feasibility study which determined the investment required will be reviewed, according to Agerpres. The agreement between the two companies should have been signed in December last year, but the project is out of the schedule originally announced.
